Situated 38 kilometres north of Metropolitan Sydney and 10 kilometres north of Hornsby, Berowra boasts stunning views over Berowra Creek and the Hawkesbury River. The name "Berowra" has an Aboriginal meaning of "place of many winds".

Despite its idyllic location, Berowra faces the risk of bushfires due to its position as a ridge-top community surrounded by National Parks. The ferocity of bushfires can have catastrophic consequences, making it crucial for residents to be prepared and knowledgeable about how to respond.

The local Fire Services exist to serve and protect the community, playing a vital role in developing resilience and educating residents about bushfire preparedness.
